Safety precautions for Daoyin Tao?

Are there any Safety preacautions that need to be taken before attending a Daoyin Tao therapy session?

Are there any people who shouldn't receive Daoyin Tao?

Does suffering from a certain illness or disease make it impossible to receive Daoyin Tao treatment?

I would really appreciate it if my questions could be answered quickly as I need to include the safety aspects of Daoyin Tao in my Holistic Therapy coursework and I have not been able to find any.

Thank you,

Kim

Hi Kim,

Thank you for your questions about Daoyin Tao.

With reference to safety issues, precaution would be needed for people wearing contact lenses, who have skin sensitivity, have hearing aids in or have dental appliances.  You would also need to proceed with caution on clients who are epileptic, who have had a stroke and as always, who have blood pressure abnormalities.

Contra indications wouldbe;

Recent dental treatment if pain or full healing has not occured, the treatment might need to be delayed.

Within 48 hours of recent travel injections.

Recent surgery to any contact area including Bottox treatment, face lift or augmentaion to the face region.

Skin infections or corrupted skin in the contact area.

Active migraines or severe headaches.

Acute illness.

High temperature or fever.

Undiagnosed conditions

Acute/progressive conditions located in the contact area.

Hope this is helpful.  Good luck with the course,

Julie Crossman
