Tuina is applied to the clothed body. Patients sit on a chair or lie on a couch and the therapist applies a multitude of massage and mobilisation techniques with the use of thumbs, fingers, arms and elbows. Tuina treats chronic and acute pain, especially that caused by muscle-skeletal conditions and injuries. Neck, shoulder and back pain and immobility, sciatica and 'tennis elbow' all respond well. Headaches, migraines, IBS, constipation, PMS and a whole range of emotional problems can also be treated.
