This three day course is aimed at the experienced therapist who wishes to add sports massage techniques to their ‘toolbox’.  It is a CPD qualification and the therapist must hold a Swedish Body Massage qualification.

 Pre-requisite:

An A&P qualification and a recognised bodywork/massage qualification

 Sports & Remedial Massage

The course explores the effects of exercise on the body – the importance of correct warm up and cool down procedures. Pre and Post sport routines are taught and a general maintenance massage is discussed and practiced. The course also includes some A&P revision!

 There is in depth focus on specific injuries – types of injury are discussed and ways of treating them taught. Management of injuries is discussed and always ways of returning back to exercise after an injury. Neuro – muscular techniques and intra-sound massage are used on this day.

 It is necessary to complete 3 case studies after the course for a certificate of competence.

 This is a CPD qualification available to fully qualified therapists who have full insurance to practice.  The movements taught are an ‘add-in’ option to your existing massage routine and are not intended to replace a full Sports Massage Course.
