Most people experience stress and anxiety on a daily basis. In fact, recent research indicated that about 70% of adults in the USA suffer from anxiety and depression.

 

Sometimes you may feel sad, hopeless, or you no longer get to enjoy the activities that used to be much fun sometime back. At such times the first thing that crosses your mind is depression, right?

 

As if that's not all, you may sometimes feel worried, afraid or naturally uneasy. Sounds more like anxiety?

Well, in as much as its normal to have ups and downs through the day, sometimes you may be going through a difficult time, and the logical solution is to consult a doctor and get to know if it's a condition that requires proper attention.

 

The following are five ways to reduce both anxiety and depression;

 

Do exercise

Most people fail to understand how crucial doing exercise is to the human body. Not only does it build you physically it also relieves mental stress. People that exercise regularly are less likely to experience anxiety.

 

This is because when exercising, the body's stress hormones are lowered significantly. Also, after exercise, you get a peaceful sleep and wouldn't be affected by anxiety or depression.

 

Consider talk therapy

At some point, you may be struggling with both anxiety and depression, and it would only be wise to seek the help of a therapist. You need someone who can treat the two conditions at the same time.

 

Some of the therapies that you may find helpful include cognitive behavioral where you get taught how to adjust your thoughts and actions. Another one is the interpersonal therapy where you are shown how to improve your communication skills.

Minimize caffeine intake

Mostly caffeine is found in coffee, chocolate, tea and energy drinks among others. Being a stimulant, when taken in high doses it can cause anxiety. The threshold of how much caffeine one can take varies from one person to another.

 

Sometimes after taking something with caffeine, you may feel jittery and anxious. When that happens, it is recommended you cut down the amount you are consuming to avoid further damage.

 

That said, coffee has been proved to be healthy when taken in moderation but again it's not for everyone. If your body does not react to it well then it's best you avoid it altogether.

 

Taking CBD oil

Spend time with friends and family
