Many individuals underestimate how important it is to get all of the vitamins your body needs. Not only do vitamins help to boost your immune system but they also help keep the body full and energized. Vitamins also help to repair the body and allow it to perform better. There are many different vitamins that the body needs to function properly. Below are just a few of the key vitamins that are necessary for good health and some foods that are filled with them.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is not only good for the body but also for the skin and even possibly the mind. Vitamin E helps to prevent inflammation and has many different anti-aging benefits. It is a great vitamin for keeping skin fresh and supple. Some foods that have a good source of vitamin e include almonds, spinach, avocados and peanuts just to name a few.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C helps to build the immune system and repair and renew cells. Vitamin C also helps the body to absorb other nutrients like iron. Vitamin C can be found in foods such as oranges, tomatoes, lemons, limes, broccoli and berries just to name a few. Vitamin C is often recommended during flu season and for those trying to fight wounds and infections as it can help speed up the healing process.

Zinc

There are many benefits of zinc. Not only does it help to repair and rejuvenate cell growth but it also helps to heal wounds and plays a major role in cell division. Another one of the best zinc benefits or pluses is it helps to break down carbohydrates. Many individuals also use zinc as an inflammatory for acne and other scars. Some foods that are high in zinc include peaches, blueberries, shellfish, chickpeas, lentils, nuts and even whole grains just to name a few.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is essential to Good Health especially for young children and even elderly. Vitamin D helps to promote bone growth and keep bones healthier and stronger. Vitamin D also helps to absorb calcium in the body. A lack of vitamin D can cause soft and frail bones. Some foods that are high in vitamin D include eggs, milk, tuna, cheese, almond milk, orange juice, especially those fortified with vitamin D as well as mushrooms.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 has a lot of good benefits for the body. Not only does it help your body to produce red blood cells but it also helps to keep the body's nerves and blood cells healthier. When vitamin B12 levels are low it can cause a variety of health issues including anemia, difficulty thinking and walking, fatigue and even weakness. Some foods that are high in vitamin B12 include liver, eggs, cereals that are fortified with B12, some types of fish such as salmon and even chicken.

Iron

Although many consider iron a mineral it is still necessary to overall good health. Iron helps to carry oxygen from the lungs and also helps keep red blood cells healthy and well. When diets are low in iron individuals can suffer from anemia, exhaustion, weakness and a variety of other health conditions. Some foods that are rich in iron include liver, lentils, beans, tofu, cashews, and even dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale.

Overall there are many different vitamins your body needs to remain healthy. Some other key vitamins include vitamin A, vitamin K, and even folate known as b9.
