WHAT IS COLONIC IRRIGATION?
For many centuries medical practitioners have used water as a means of internally flushing waste and toxins from the body. Similar to an enema, Colonic Irrigation also known as Colon hydrotherapy is an alternative medical procedure, sometimes associated with naturopathy which involves introducing discrete amounts of purified water, sometimes infused with minerals or other materials inserted into the rectum. The fluid is released after a short period of time, this process is then repeated multiple times during the course of a treatment.

Colonic Irrigation aims to dislodge and break up and remove any build-up of impacted faecal material in the colon. The primary benefits are, that it can help to re-balance the natural ecology of he bacterial flora which in turn helps boost the production of B-complex and K vitamins. This therapy has been helpful in cases of Candida, chronic fatigue syndrome, a range of allergies, lethargy, headaches, bloating and various skin problems.

REFLEXOLOGY
Based on the Chinese concept of Chi or energy, reflexology works on the principle that every part of the body is reflected in areas or points on the hand or foot. By applying skilful pressure to these points, tension and stress patterns in the corresponding part of the body can be relaxed or released and effectively be healed. Reflexologist’s view that the feet and hands are a mirror image of the body, when pressure is applied it generates signals through the peripheral nervous system which enters the central nervous system where it is processed in various parts of the brain. It is then relayed to the internal organs to allocate the necessary adjustments in fuel and oxygen, this message is fed forward to adjust the body's tone or overall tension level.
The benefits of reflexology are generally to do with reducing stress or tension, however it is also often used as an indicator to what part of the body is out of balance that may need some further alternative therapy or remedy.
