There's no doubt that there are a host of dangerous and debilitating diseases out there, but luckily, most of us will only likely be inconvenienced with conditions that are little more than annoying. While there are some very serious skin conditions out there, the majority simply remain overtly irritating. Additionally, most of these conditions aren't too serious as evidenced by the fact that they're some of the most common reasons that people visit their doctors. The below article explores the best way to treat conditions in particular, eczema without strong pharmaceutical intervention, but rather via acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

Skin Conditions at a Glance: Sadly, skin diseases are also some of the most difficult to treat. Many do not respond well to medication, and in instances where they do, there are often side effects which make the medicine's benefits relatively minimal. However alternative treatment methods like traditional Chinese medicine are natural treatments for several types of skin conditions. More and more people all around the world are turning to their local acupuncturists, weather they be in Perth, London, Washington, Toronto etc seeking help in treating common skin conditions such as psoriasis, acne, eczema or a host of other common skin conditions.

How Traditional Chinese Medicine Views Skin Conditions: The only way that traditional Chinese medicine can help with skin diseases is to discover the imbalance that is actually causing the condition to manifest. When it comes to skin conditions, different people are going to show different symptoms. Recognizing the symptoms that are presenting give the traditional Chinese medicine practitioner an idea of which imbalance they'll need to correct.   Recognizing the aforementioned symptoms are a way of identifying the inflammatory responses that are leading to the skin condition. Eczema, for instance, gives a telling tale of how this process works. Eczema will sometimes present itself as simply red and dry skin. In other instances, it may appear as lesions that are crusty, weeping and wet. A traditional Chinese medicine practitioner will identify these symptoms and use them to come up with a plan of action for herbal remedies and/or acupuncture.

How Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Treat Skin Conditions:  As already mentioned, the herbal and acupuncture treatments used to treat a condition will need to be specially tailored towards the presenting symptoms. This is the only way to correct the underlying imbalance that's leading to the issue. Eczema that's presented as crusty lesions, for instance, is caused by dampness and heat. Luckily, certain acupuncture points are specifically able to reduce these two traits in a person's skin. Additionally, certain herbs, such as long dan cao, can remove dampness and heat from the body.   When eczema is presented as dry red skin, on the other hand, the underlying cause is dryness and heat. Once again, there are a few specific acupuncture points that are able to remove the heat that's causing the dryness from the body. Additionally, certain herbs, such as mu dan pi, will moisten a person's skin and allow their skin condition to heal.   In the case of acupuncture as a treating option, the process is follows; tiny needles are inserted into the skin at various pressure points (depending on the symptoms presented), the needles are then manipulated by the practitioner to stimulate the organ and restore its natural function. This may all seem a little scary (needles inserted into the skin), however acupuncture is generally and should not be painful. Patients worldwide have reported perhaps experiencing slight discomfort once the needles are initially inserted, however report that they did not experience pain.   Skin conditions are, luckily, not the only issues that acupuncture and other forms of traditional Chinese medicine can help to treat, but for those suffering from certain skin conditions, acupuncutre can be a blessings. Attacking a condition's symptoms simply isn't enough; the underlying imbalances leading to these conditions must be dealt with. When this is done, traditional Chinese medicines and acupuncture can lead to serious improvement over a period of time.
