Life is full of challenges. One day you are dealing with divorce and the next day you are jobless. Such difficult situations can take a toll on someone, causing them stress.

Stress is something millions of people deal with daily. It is so rampant and has become part and parcel of us that people do not realize how big of a dealit can be. Prolonged or severe stress should not be taken lightly as it can lead to depression or other forms of mental illnesses.

The question of whether or not you should see a therapist can torment you.However, if you find yourself going back and forth with this question, there is a high chance that you need therapy.

Below are 5 major tell-n-tale sign that you should talk to a therapist about your condition.

·         You feel stuck

There at times in life when you feel like you are doing the same thing over and over again and still get the same negative results.If you are in a situation that you detest and have no idea how to fix it, it is time to seek professional help. Some of these situations include toxic relationships and drug addictions among other things.

When the patient talks to a therapist, they see their situation in a whole new perspective and this will help them make the positive changes they need.

·         You are really unhappy with your life

Most of us are on social media and have come across that uncomfortable post from a friend venting about how they hate their life; sometimes we are the ones venting. Everyone, at a point in their life, is unhappy about their life. However, if you find that you are genuinely unhappy with your life and it’s just not some emotional meltdown, it is time to sit down with a therapist.

Such negative feelings can run deep down to the point that we hate who we are and see nothing positive with us and the world at large. If not dealt with early enough, these thoughts of self-hatred may cause depression.

That one drink at the end of the day is not cause for alarm; however, if you find yourself scouting for a glass or two of alcohol every time you are under pressure to calm your nerves, you need counseling.

Such uncontrollable intense feelings are a clear indication of your need for help as they can be paralyzing and debilitating.
