What do you recommend as an altenative treatment for this disease? I do NOT want to take prednisone but can hardly get out of bed and am having trouble driving. I do cleaning for a living and need to be able to work. Thanks for any help

Polymyalgia rheumatica can be primary or secondary to another condition so I would find out from your MD what is causing it. It is believed to be caused by inflammation so i would recommend 2 grams of fish oil a day that gives you at 500 mg EPA and 300 mg DHA. Herbs to reduce inflammation are curcumin, boswelia, and cats claw. Also high dose of vitamin C would be helpful if you can take 3000 mg/day. Green tea would be worthwhile to include in your program. I would find out if a food is triggering it by doing and elimination diet or have food allergies tested (IgG and IgE would be best). If you clean for a living your body may have built up a load of toxic substance that it can't detox from inhaling the cleaner. i would switch to all natural cleaners and take some extra natural substances for your liver including milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid and selenium. I hope this is helpful. |

Hello, So sorry to hear about your problem and the pain you are experiencing. It may well be worth trying a Bioflow. I've known people with your complaint saying it has made a fantastic difference. Bioflow generally improves circulation and as a result reduces pain. If a Bioflows purchased and after 3 months there is no benefit you just send it back for a 85% refund. If you would like to chat please give me a call on 01932 221752 With kind regards Derek Hawkins |

Hi there. There is no alternative treatment for the disorder, but aromatherapy can help with the muscular stiffness and pain. I recommend sweet marjoram, basil and black pepper but there could be others that would help you as an individual. If you can give us a call on Monday we can talk to you about all your symptoms and advise more fully - 01455 251020 |
