Stress is the top issue people seek medical help with today. There are so many ways of working with stress and here are just a few simple things you might try.. The important thing is to interrupt the pattern of stress and replace it with something that supports your wellbeing. One technique you can try with no need for any outside intervention is just to breath in fully through your nose drawing breath up the center of your body into your head, pausing a moment and exhaling through your mouth saying "AH" . Both the inhalation and exhalation need to be slow and complete.. Follow the transit of your breath in and out of your body.. Really notice its journey.Do this at least 3-6 times to help you get into present moment. I would eliminate all sources of caffine and begin to notice the moment that stress is triggered. If you can interuppt it at the source point, then you will be able to deal with the situations as a choice rather than as a stressed reaction. Meditation is also great for stress but if your mind is too active, then an active meditation would be good. For example taking a slow walk with the intention of focusing on your breath, having a soft gaze and encouraging yourself to come back to breath each time your mind wandenrs. Don't waste your energy scolding or judging yourself in the process, just refocus and try again. I would need to know more about your situation to advise further. |
