I would need to know why she is on blood thinners to answer the question correctly. If she has an heart arrhythmia it is very important to be on a blood thinner and to discuss natural treatments with her MD. MD's assess blood viscosity by testing the INR. THere are no natural products that i know that will affect INR. Fish oils, gingko biloba, garlic all can thin the blood but they affect bleeding time and will not help the INR so you may not see the results. One of the best thinners is nattokinase(from soy) however there are only limited studies on its effectiveness. If her problem is fibrinogen being too high, then lumbrokinase would work. You would have to discuss these with your MD, please do not try these without the MD's concurrence. Has she tried other thinners such as plavix, aspirin, etc.? |
