This course is aimed at the experienced therapist who wants to add further techniques to their ‘toolboxes’. It is recommended that the therapist has Intermediate skills prior to attending the course. There is an introduction to neuromuscular techniques and trigger points. Dermatomes and myotomes are discussed along with their effects on pain in the body. There is inclusion of both passive and active movements into massage to mobilize the joints and tone the muscles. Shiatsu and acupressure techniques are introduced into the massage techniques alongside existing techniques. 3 case studies should be completed for a certificate of competence.
