Where as European massage targets muscle pain, Thai massage works on similar principles to other Eastern therapies which concentrate on the major energy meridians that run throughout the body. The aim being to loosen blockages and restore the body's natural equilibrium and balance. It also relaxes the muscles and stimulates the flow of both blood and lymph.

This is a one day workshop for qualified therapists.

Aims and Objectives

This training course aims to provide the participants with a good standard of professional training, in a safe, secure environment. The objective is for the participants to gain knowledge and expertise, through demonstration and practice, questions and answers and continuous assessment, thus enabling the participants to gain a recognisable qualification in THAI HOT HERB BODY MASSAGE.

Who is it for ?

Participants need to show they already hold have a recognised qualification in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage. A photo copy must accompany the application form, and the original must be produced prior to the award of the diploma.

Course content

• Health and Safety - what to do in an emergency, precautions, risk assessments, emergency aid.
• Introduction - history and philosophy of Thai Hot Herb Massage.
• Massage compresses - the facts, including benefits and contra-indications
• Massage Oils - the facts, including benefits and contra-indications.
• An introduction to Chi. Exercises to promote Chi, breathing, techniques, posture.
• Thai Hot Herb Body Massage - benefits, contra-indications, movements and techniques. Demonstration and practice.
• Theory into practice - full massage routine.
