The polyphenols in green tea are known as catechins. The most studied catechin is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) which is responsible for many of the antioxidant, immune support, and metabolic properties of green tea.
A recent meta-analysis of green tea studies has shown that green tea catechins with caffeine are associated with a statistically significant reduction in body mass index, body weight, and waist circumference. This result was not produced by decaffeinated green tea products. There are now a number of human studies showing that caffeinated green tea supports weight loss. Data shows that the green tea catechins and caffeine work synergistically to increase energy expenditure and fat oxidation, working directly on the metabolism of fat cells.*
Green tea catechins have also been shown to enhance the production of adiponectin, an important hormone for healthy insulin function and blood sugar metabolism. They have also been shown to help reduce the excess leptin levels associated with metabolic struggles.*
Our specially prepared green tea starts with hand picking of the leaves to preserve the delicate catechins. Only the finest quality green tea leaves are used, rigorously tested and quality controlled to ensure they are not contaminated with pesticides, heavy metals, or other pollutants that are common in cheap green tea.*
