Firstly, taking extra care in personal hygiene and self sanitization is the best way to prevent infection and to avoid exposure to this virus.

Regularly washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after using the bathroom, blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing goes a long way to help keep you clean from infection.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.  If you are sick, please stay home so that you do not spread your infection to others.  It is also important to clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched using a good household cleaning spray or wipe.

There are some good essential oils that are powerfully anti-viral, such as Bergamot, Eucalyptus and Tea Tree also known as Melaleuca Oil.

Melaleuca Oil is probably the most powerful of these three, when used topically it is antibacterial and has high cleansing properties, it also stimulates the body’s immune system to respond to infection.

Soaking in a bath using just using a few drops of any combination of these oils; , Eucalyptus and Melaleuca allows the vaporization to act as steam inhalations which are excellent for the respiratory tract.

Using vaporizations, whether by means of a burner or a diffuser not only helps the patient but is one of the best ways to decrease the risk of infections to other people in the household or office.
