A person needs a dental implant when his or her teeth have gone through severe tooth decay. It can be done for one single tooth, a pair of teeth, several teeth or for the entire set of teeth. Dental implant will serve the same functions, activities and services as the natural tooth or teeth. Generally there are three options for tooth replacement. It is also the least prescribed procedure as it causes inconveniences of removable appliance stuck in the mouth. It also hampers the ability to feel the exact taste of food. The third one is dental implant. It is a bit costly procedure but very much effective. It is held up by the jawbone and does not affect the teeth lying on its either sides. Dental implant is based on some factors which are stated below.

·         Preference of the patient.

·         Health status of the patient.

·         Cost of the entire procedure.

·         Location of the missing tooth or teeth.

·         The jawbone status, which is the quality and quantity of the bone where the implant will be done.
