At the start of 2018, it’s the perfect time to get a new and fresh start in life. It’s never too late to make changes that benefit your health. If you don’t have your health, life is challenging. As a result, it’s so important to cultivate habits that support a healthy mind, body, and soul.
Make Rest a Priority
It’s not just about getting a few hours of sleep. The quality of that sleep is important too. Each hour of sleep before 11 pm is worth almost three to four hours of sleep after 11. Plus, there’s nothing like getting a lot of rest and waking up with that feeling of clarity and satisfaction.
Get Regular Check-Ups
Get regular check-ups at a place like Discover Vision Centers because it’s so important to know your health status. It takes away the level of uncertainty. Ignorance isn’t bliss when it pertains to your health. Don’t just stop at seeing your primary care doctor. Make sure to schedule visits to see the optometrist, gynecologist, and the dermatologist. If you visit the optometrist and learn that you need glasses, consider the option of contacts. If the thought of wearing glasses is too upsetting, understand that there are options such as contacts.
Do your best to commit to working on a few times a week. Many times, people create New Year’s resolutions and set themselves up for failure. If you don’t work out five times a week, don’t start with that goal. Start small and work up to that amount. Start out working two days a week.
Incorporate More Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are life-giving to the body. The body craves healthy nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Work to make sure that each meal contains a few fruits and vegetables. For breakfast, drink a green smoothie along with your meal. For lunch, enjoy a side salad. For dinner, replace the starches with more vegetables. Continue this tradition with each meal and your health will dramatically improve over a long period of time.
There are health experts who suggest that 80% of chronic problems can be easily solved by drinking more water. The kidney is 79% water. Skin is %64 water. So many major organs thrive on having enough water. Be intentional about drinking lots of it every single day.
Once you’ve incorporated these five tips, remain consistent with them. Your body won’t be the same in three months. Even after five months, you’ll feel like you’re dealing with a brand-new person. When you intentionally attack these tips, it’ll create a snowball effect and you’ll be able to experience a new lease on life.
