We all live busy lifestyles and that daily grind can wear us down faster than we even realize, leaving our bodies feeling drained and our minds fatigued. When that happens, our first instinct may be to reach for that energy drink, but there are healthier ways to pep ourselves up and restore our bodies and minds to peak condition.


1. Hydrating is Vital to Staying Alert
One of the first things you can do, when you start feeling down, is to indulge in some water. One of the first symptoms that your body may be dehydrated is a loss of energy and a greater feeling of fatigue. As the human body is largely made up of moisture, any drop in water and electrolyte levels can alter metabolism and put a drain on energy levels.


2. Vitamins and Dietary Supplements Are Essential
Even the healthiest eaters can lack appropriate levels of nutrients and vitamins in their body chemistry and that's where energy drains can become evident. Taking a daily multi-vitamin is one option to ensure we're maintaining proper levels. There are also newer breakthroughs that fortify our systems at the cellular level. 3. Sleep Less, Not More
Most experts are still urging us to get 8-10 hours of sleep each night, but some are suggesting that too much sleep may be the problem. 4. Exercise is Still the Best Advice
It's been said many times and seen on many similar lists, but that's because it works. Exercise helps your body circulate oxygen and more efficient oxygen distribution stimulates energy. Additionally, researchers have found that physical activity releases epinephrine and norepinephrine, stressors that can lead to a greater feeling of euphoria and higher energy levels.
The key to keeping a constant flow of energy and staying in peak condition is to ensure your body is getting everything it needs from water and nutrients to physical activity and rest. Living a healthier lifestyle with those factors in mind will lead to a happier, livelier temperament, as well as a longer life.
