Water helps to flush out toxins and impurities which can allow the skin to look brighter and healthier. For an added bonus add fruits or vegetables to water for a delicious taste with a healthy kick. To be environmentally friendly buy a large reusable water bottle that can easily be taken on the go.

 

Vitamins

Foods such as fruits and vegetables are filled with an abundance of healthy vitamins that help to keep the skin looking and feeling better. Vitamins such as vitamin C and vitamin K help to give skin a natural healthy glow. Vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin E help to rejuvenate collagen and skin so it looks fresher and more supple. Vitamins can be found in a variety of foods including carrots, squash, spinach, peppers, strawberries, nuts, kale, pork and even milk just to name a few.

Antioxidants

Much like vitamins antioxidants work to keep the skin and body healthy and performing well. Some of the best antioxidants for skin include flavonoids, retinol, vitamin C and vitamin E. Foods such as dark chocolate, blueberries, spinach, strawberries and even raisins are very rich in nutrients and antioxidants.

 

Lemon

Lemon is not only great for eating and drinking but it is also great for wearing. Lotions and other face washes and products that have lemon are said to brighten the skin and give it a more plumped enhanced look. No matter what skin type lemon can help fix discoloration on skin and even reverse the signs of aging. For an added bonus try drinking at least 2-3 cups of lemon water a day. Not only is it healthy and refreshing it also tastes good and is good for you.

 

Fish

Eating a diet that includes fish at least one to three times a week is not only good for the body but also the skin. Certain types of fish such as salmon are filled with antioxidants such as Vitamin E which help to renew and rejuvenate the skin.

 

Avoid Allergens And Irritants

One thing to be aware of when using nutrition to get better skin care is to pay attention to food allergens and irritants. Many people do not realize that diets that are high in processed food or even sugar can have harmful effects on the skin. Some individuals may even find that diets that have excessive dairy can also affect the skin. Limiting sugar intake as well as limiting the amount of processed food can help offer better skin.

 

There are many different ways that your diet can affect your skin and body. One of the best ways to ensure skin is at its healthiest is to keep hydrated with plenty of water, eat a diet rich in whole foods such as fruits and vegetables and whole grains and always be sure to lather on sunscreen before going outdoors.
